In this air purification system (CDRA), which is responsible for safety in the crew cabin, zeolite of varying particle sizes will be used in future to remove carbon dioxide. The cabin air passes through a layer of zeolite, to which water and carbon dioxide molecules are adsorbed, whilst all other gases pass through. The zeolite is reactivated after being heated and exposed to a vacuum.<\/p>\n<p>Similar systems can be used in hospitals for mobile oxygen supply. In this case, the zeolite acts as an oxygen concentrator. Zeolite filters remove nitrogen from the air and provide the patient with high-concentration oxygen.
