The vermicomposting process was carried out in a humid environment with a moisture content of between 70% and 80% and a pH of between 6 and 8. Natural zeolite, such as clinoptilolite, and charcoal were mixed with the vermicompost in various ratios prior to pelletisation. The highest cation exchange capacity (CEC) was observed in mixtures containing 10 per cent zeolite (Z2) and 20 per cent charcoal (C4). The inclusion of 10 per cent zeolite in the mixture resulted in the greatest reduction in copper (Cu) by 44 per cent and manganese by 60 per cent; furthermore, the inclusion of 15 per cent charcoal caused the greatest reduction in iron (Fe) by 32 per cent.
