Cultivation of the ‘Tuono’ variety of almond tree using zeolite, incorporated into the soil in Larissa, 8 July 2016

The almond tree is a species of plant in the Rosaceae family, often classified within the genus Prunus. The most common species is the sweet almond (Prunus dulcis, synonyms: Prunus amygdalus, Amygdalus communis), which grows in almost all the warm and dry regions of the Mediterranean zone, where it has been cultivated since ancient times. For this reason, it is very difficult to determine its place of origin. It is a deciduous tree reaching a height of 4 to 12 metres, with a trunk diameter of up to 30 centimetres and elliptical, lanceolate and serrated leaves.
