N. Lygeros: The zeolite strategy
The zeolite strategy not only showcases Greece’s mineral wealth but also provides alternative solutions to ensure our human rights are not trampled upon. Zeolite is friendly to people, animals and the environment, which means it also offers effective remediation. As it provides jobs for our own people in an area that needs them, it also transforms them into more resilient citizens who no longer stand to gain from collaborating with those who destroy the environment – and do so irreversibly. The zeolite strategy follows the Hellenic way of thinking, as it constitutes a counter-offensive for our homeland. We have never bowed down to barbarism in the past, and we shall not do so in the future. However, we must have a strategy that is constructive, and that is the extraction of our strategic mineral wealth: zeolite. Greek zeolite, therefore, must be set free. It is a matter of time and will. No one has the right to hold us back on this path to the future. It is a clear path to development for Thrace, and we will not abandon it. The example of salt is a tangible model that we will follow if the need arises. Because Greece needs zeolite. And not just as a mineral, but as a soil improver for its agricultural produce. It increases the value of the raw material and makes the difference that really counts. That is why there will be freely available zeolite, so that Greek zeolite can thrive as a matter of strategy.
