Zeolite in the washing machine
If we look around us, most of the detergents we buy and use – for the washing machine, the washing-up, bleaches, fabric softeners and cleaning products – we’ll see that they’ve turned our home into a chemistry lab!
In fact, all these detergents contain a great many hazardous chemicals, resulting in serious consequences for both the environment and our own health. Many of the ingredients in today’s detergents remain in the fibres of our clothes and leave residues, no matter how thoroughly we rinse them. So every time we wear our clothes, our bodies come into constant contact with these substances, which dehydrate the skin and contribute to the development of allergies and eczema, whilst the petrochemical ingredients, which are derived from petroleum, are linked to a range of chronic diseases, as well as to a range of health problems (affecting the respiratory, reproductive and endocrine systems).
In Europe, restrictions are already in place on the use of hazardous chemicals and phosphates, and alternative formulations for detergents and water softeners water.
The main alternative is zeolite, a valuable natural product with countless applications and properties. It is a natural porous mineral with an enormous ion-exchange capacity, thanks to which it can purify the environment by binding chemicals and hazardous metals. When added to the wash, it can reduce the amount of detergent used by up to 70 per cent and eliminate the need for fabric softener. It extends the lifespan of fabrics and reduces the risk of allergies caused by the chemicals in detergents.

Zeolite prevents the build-up of limescale, which are responsible for damaging the washing machine and fabrics; and, unlike chemicals, it does not contribute to the phenomenon of marine eutrophication.
Dosage: 30%–70% (Replace 30% of the detergent with zeolite)
