Zeolite on a donkey farm in Samothrace

We recently visited our friend Theodoros’s donkey farm in Chora, Samothrace. Interacting with these beautiful animals was a unique and unprecedented experience.

We were particularly struck by the friendliness of young Oscar, who followed us everywhere like a loyal friend.

Thodoris is one of the pioneers in the use of zeolite, having used it on his farm for years now, and he makes full use of its properties.

Its use begins with the feed, at 2 per cent by weight, and continues in the livestock housing, at 100 grams per square metre. This helps to ensure the animals’ good health and a clean living environment.

The manure produced is very quickly ready for use in agriculture, in the zeolite-enriched vegetable garden and around zeolite-enriched trees.

The small amount of milk produced is used to make handmade soaps with Samothraki olive oil.

We would like to thank him very much for his hospitality and wish him all the best for the future.

Below you can watch a short video with photos from our visit to this enchanting island in Thrace.
