In a world where everyone talks about development without showing the slightest sign of progress, recovery is presented as an innovation. And this is indeed the case for our country, as very few people believe it is worthwhile. Tangible assets, such as Greece’s Exclusive Economic Zone and Greek zeolite, have still not convinced our society that they constitute a recovery strategy for Greece. There is, of course, mental inertia, which is always an obstacle, but misinformation about our strategic reserves certainly does not help, as very few people are aware of the facts. What matters is that, thanks to recent surveys, we now all know that our reserves are indeed substantial. A similar problem relates to Greek innovation itself, which still has to prove that it is worthwhile, even though it does exist. To change the status quo that everyone takes for granted, we must make the most of our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), zeolite and our innovation. In this context, recovery has a self-referential quality in relation to innovation. For nobody believes in the unbelievable. Whereas intelligence can work wonders. If this way of thinking takes hold amongst our people, then their morale will change and they will begin to regroup, in order to respond to the need for progress.
