The Thermaic Gulf and zeolite, Thessaloniki: press conference by Mayor G. Boutaris on the city’s 49th Dimitria Festival
An original press conference took place today in Thessaloniki, aboard the ‘Kleio’ boat, regarding this year’s 49th Dimitria Festival. The press conference given by Mayor G. Boutaris, the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Elli Chrysidou, and members of the festival’s organising committee has just concluded… on board… In his brief remarks, the mayor spoke of the new vision for the festival, aimed at establishing its identity. He emphasised that he fully supports these efforts and hopes that the first tangible results of this endeavour will be evident next year.
Following the press conference, during a private meeting with the city’s mayor, Mr G. Boutaris, reference was made to the city’s bay and the problem of cleaning it. The delegation reiterated the proposal to clean the Thermaic Gulf using zeolite. He warmly welcomed the proposal and found it interesting; he also noted that it would be looked into further.
We hope that the mayor will fully accept and implement this proposal, with a view to improving the quality of life for the citizens of Thessaloniki.
