Zeolite and air filtration
For many years now, natural zeolite has been used by major companies specialising in the filtration and purification of indoor air. This is achieved by devices available on the market known as air ionisers and purifiers, which use natural zeolite as their main filter.
Zeolite has the ability to significantly reduce odours within a short period of time. It also absorbs and neutralises viruses, fungi, bacteria and allergens suspended in the air, just as room ionisers do. We place natural zeolite in the form of gravel in a simple bowl or plate in areas where odours are produced by cooking, house painting, cigarette smoke and other unpleasant odours; we find that these odours are significantly reduced, and in some cases even eliminated, from our space. It can be used in all enclosed spaces such as storerooms, attics, cellars, shoe cupboards, kitchen cupboards, wardrobes, and in workplaces and other enclosed areas.
To reduce the cooling required and minimise food odours in our fridge, we place a bowl of zeolite in front of the fan. This way, the zeolite will also provide extra oxygenation whilst we save on electricity. It will also absorb moisture from the fridge, keeping food fresh for longer. The bowl should not be covered.
By sprinkling 1–2 teaspoons of zeolite powder into each shoe and spreading it evenly over the entire surface, we help to reduce unpleasant odours in shoes, socks and even on our feet.
By replacing the litter we use for our pet with natural zeolite in the form of gravel, we’ll get rid of the unpleasant odours of urine and reduce moisture in the pet’s bedding, whilst the zeolite will also provide protection against bacteria and parasites. It also helps to control odours – mainly ammonia and hydrogen sulphide – in food processing and storage areas, on livestock farms and in fish farms.
Its desiccant action helps combat mould by absorbing moisture, which is responsible for dozens of respiratory conditions and allergies.
Natural zeolite is a 100% natural, harmless and odourless product.
