Approval of a Type C forest road study for mineral exploration of industrial minerals (zeolite)
WE RESOLVE
We hereby examine and approve the study entitled ‘Type C forest road for mineral exploration of industrial minerals (zeolite)’ in the Petroton area of the Municipality of Orestiada in the Prefecture of Evros, as drawn up by the private consultants Mr Vasileios Prasatzis, Civil Engineer, and Mr Symeon Potouridis, Forestry Scientist and Environmentalist, on behalf of the company ‘OLYMPOS S.A.’ INDUSTRIAL MINERALS, and reviewed by Mr Konstantinos Kospantsidis, a forester at the Didymoteicho Forestry Office, for a total budget of thirteen thousand nine hundred euros (€13,900.00). The purpose of the study is to construct a Category C forest road 1.440 metres, which will provide access to the sites of research work into the presence of the mineral zeolite at the ‘KOKKALA’ site in the Petroton area of the Municipality of Orestiada. The road to be constructed will start at the existing road leading to the settlement of Petrota, whilst its terminus will be in the area of the research sites. Its total length will be 1,440 metres, its width 4.00 metres, whilst its gradients will not exceed 12 per cent. Specifically, the following are planned:
- Excavation in earthy to semi-rocky ground
- Construction of embankments; Approval of a forest road design for zeolite exploration in Th. ‘Kokkala’ in Petrota Page 3 of 3 The project will be carried out by ‘OLYMPOS S.A.’ INDUSTRIAL MINERALS using its own funds and under the continuous supervision of the Didymoteicho Forestry Office, which is required to appoint a responsible forester for this purpose. The Project Plan and the Health and Safety Dossier for the project shall be applied to the phases of work referred to.
