Inertia and inaction – N. Lygeros

Inertia and inaction – N. Lygeros.

At the moment, we are witnessing a great deal of inaction and inactivity, as if everyone were in a state of limbo. Many have not yet realised what has happened, what is happening and what will happen. Some expect nothing at all any more, whilst others expect everything. The question is: why should we wait? When has waiting ever done our country any good? Quite simply: never! It is therefore important that we break out of this inertia and inaction, not merely to claim that we are taking steps, but to create a framework for action through our deeds. There are issues we must push forward, such as the Genocide, the Greek Exclusive Economic Zone, Greek zeolite, innovation, and the introduction of chess-based thinking into our schools. It is therefore not possible to wait for everything to happen, when we know where we can make a contribution. There are, of course, many other examples, such as the return of the Parthenon Marbles; what matters is that everyone can contribute and realise this. Because liberation begins in our minds. And a free people do not stop at obstacles; they go beyond them to set an example. So if everyone were to write down their visions on a piece of paper and then consider what they are doing to make them a reality, then we would indeed see progress, as our thinking would be subject to reflection and feedback, enabling it to move into a phase of development and produce a comprehensive, collective and holistic work, without expecting anything from anyone, as their role would now be clear.
