Zeolite in asphalt

Abstract Warm asphalt mixtures have seen rapid development worldwide in recent years. Zeolite-based warm mix is one such type of warm mixture. In this paper, seven types of zeolites – comprising six natural zeolites and one synthetic zeolite – were selected. As additives for warm mix, their physical properties, such as density, water content and pore arrangements, were tested individually. To evaluate the compaction properties of zeolite-based warm asphalt mixtures, an AC-20 mixture was formulated and compaction tests were carried out.
