Zeolite in Agriculture
ZeTe – Zeolite-based crop booster – for maximum yield and resilience
Thracean Zeolite’s new crop enhancer, ZeTe, offers innovative features to boost yields and protect plants. ZeTe is a revolutionary bio-stimulant that has just been launched on the Greek market, specially designed for professional farmers. It is a natural crop enhancer based on Greek zeolite, which promises higher yields and more resilient crops. Composition and Mode of Action of ZeTe ZeTe is a new-generation plant biostimulant in paste form, which makes it particularly easy to use. Its composition is based on high-purity natural zeolite, specifically clinoptilolite (Clinoptilolite – HEU zeolite type) enriched with beneficial minerals such as silicon, potassium, calcium, iron, ... How zeolite enhances the benefits of sewage sludge in agriculture: A Greek study of global interest
In modern agriculture, the need for sustainable and cost-effective solutions for crop fertilisation is more pressing than ever. With the skyrocketing cost of inorganic fertilisers and their environmental impact, scientists are increasingly turning to alternative solutions. A recent Greek study sheds light on the combination of sewage sludge with natural zeolite, revealing impressive results for barley production and soil health. What is sludge and why should we use it? Sewage sludge (also known as biosolids) is an organic residue resulting from the treatment of urban wastewater. It contains valuable nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as organic matter ... Read more
The role of zeolite in tackling drought in agricultural production
zeolite is a natural mineral with a porous structure that can absorb and retain large quantities of water, acting as a ‘reservoir’ of moisture in the soil. This is particularly useful in areas prone to severe drought, as adding zeolite to the soil helps to retain water for longer, reducing the need for frequent watering. At the same time, it improves soil quality by retaining and releasing nutrients at a more steady rate, thereby promoting crop growth. zeolite, therefore, is an important tool for drought management and for increasing agricultural productivity under challenging climatic conditions. Zeolite, what is it, what does it do and where is it used?
Zeolite is a natural, inert, clay-silicate rock, which generally cleans and manages the environment in which it is found. (buy certified zeolite products) Zeolite has a unique combination of properties that make it a special material, which is used in a wide range of applications. Its structure consists of countless holes (openings) at the micromolecular level. It is hydrophilic, i.e. it can absorb and eliminate water up to 60% of its weight. It has a high ion exchange capacity and can bind elements and compounds of large molecular structure. It could also be described as a filter or a molecular ... Read more
New particle size distributions for certified Greek zeolite
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our products, we are pleased to announce that three new particle sizes of certified Greek zeolite are now available. In this way, we achieve the best possible results in zeolite applications across a wide range of sectors.
Greek wine produced using zeolite in the vineyard ranks among the world’s top 20 for 2023
One of the wines produced in the mountain vineyards of the Holy Monastery of Voutsa, which is made using zeolite in the cultivation process, has won a top award.

Natural zeolite as a growing medium in hydroponics
Natural zeolite – clinoptilolite – has a unique, honeycomb-shaped molecular structure and is negatively charged. This means that it can attract and retain significant amounts of nutrient molecules, such as nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. These unique properties make it the ideal hydroponic growing medium. It is a 100% natural product, balances the pH and is able to bind nutrients and water within its structure whilst remaining anhydrous. Natural zeolite requires up to 50 per cent less watering, as it traps and retains water within its structure until the roots require and absorb it, thereby also allowing for proper ... Read more
The countdown has begun for the extraction of Thracian zeolite by the Petroton-based company, ‘Lithoxoos’.
The technical study for the operation of the quarry at Petrota, in the municipality of Nea Orestiada in the prefecture of Evros, for the extraction of Greek zeolite has been approved. The approval covers approximately 30 stremmata in the ‘Palioklissi’ area, north-west of the village of Petrota.
