Zeolite in the Consumer Goods Industry

How is zeolite used in drinking water filters? What properties make it suitable for purifying drinking water?

The technical study for the operation of the quarry at Petrota, in the municipality of Nea Orestiada in the prefecture of Evros, for the extraction of Greek zeolite has been approved. The approval covers approximately 30 stremmata in the ‘Palioklissi’ area, north-west of the village of Petrota.

The comprehensive use of zeolite in olive cultivation can yield an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality with a ‘Health Claim’.

New developments regarding Greek zeolite and promising prospects for the coming year have been brought about by two new decisions from the Regional Council and the Directorate of Environment and Spatial Planning of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
