ZeTe – Zeolite-based crop booster – for maximum yield and resilience

Thracean Zeolite’s new crop enhancer, ZeTe, offers innovative features to boost yields and protect plants. ZeTe is a revolutionary bio-stimulant that has just been launched on the Greek market, specially designed for professional farmers. It is a natural crop enhancer based on Greek zeolite, which promises higher yields and more resilient crops.

Composition and Mode of Action of ZeTe

ZeTe is a new-generation plant biostimulant in paste form, which makes it particularly easy to use. Its composition is based on high-purity natural zeolite, specifically clinoptilolite (Clinoptilolite – HEU zeolite type) enriched with beneficial minerals such as silicon, potassium, calcium, iron, manganese, titanium, phosphorus and others. These components work together, supplying plants with essential nutrients and trace elements when they need them.

How does zeolite work?

Thanks to its unique porous structure and high ion-exchange capacity, ZeTe’s zeolite binds nutrients and water and then gradually releases them for the benefit of the plants. Put simply, it acts as a ‘nutrient and water store’. In the field: it retains fertilising elements (e.g. nitrogen, potassium, calcium) that would otherwise be lost, and releases them to the plants when they require them via the root system. At the same time, it retains moisture – up to 60–70 per cent of its weight in water – which it releases gradually, keeping the soil moist for longer. This means that plants remain cooler and better hydrated, particularly during periods of drought or heatwaves, thereby reducing water stress.

How does ZeTe work on plant leaves?

A distinctive feature of ZeTe is its action on plant leaves. When applied via foliar spraying, the fine-grained zeolite paste forms a thin white film on the leaf surface. This film provides protection in two ways: it repels insect pests (acting as a natural insect repellent) and provides sun protection for the plants.

Essentially, ZeTe acts as a shield against sunburn and excessive radiation, whilst at the same time reducing water loss through evapotranspiration (by reducing transpiration from the leaves). As a result, plants suffer less from heat stress in summer and make better use of their moisture. Furthermore, after rain or watering, the product deposited on the leaves ends up in the soil and continues to act as a soil improver, enhancing soil fertility and the health of the rhizosphere in the long term.

ZeTe’s innovative action is due to its 100% natural composition and the way it harnesses the properties of zeolite. It is a non-microbial product, meaning that it contains no living organisms but exerts a bio-stimulant effect through natural minerals.

It is completely safe for plants, the environment and the user, whilst it can also be used in organic farming without restrictions. Its dual function – both as a foliage protector and as a soil improver – makes it unique in its kind.

Advantages of ZeTe over other plant enhancers

In a market where there are many crop enhancers available, ZeTe stands out for the multiple benefits it offers. Here are some of its key advantages compared to conventional products:

• Greater effectiveness & yield: Using ZeTe leads to increased production and better crop quality. Through improved nutrition and reduced stress, plants realise their full potential. Research and experiments have shown that adding zeolite can significantly increase the yield of many crops, whilst helping to improve their health and vitality. Furthermore, ZeTe helps you make the most of the fertiliser you apply (minimising nutrient losses), which translates into greater fruit production over the long term.
• Duration of action & durability: Unlike many short-lived formulations, ZeTe has a long-lasting beneficial effect. Zeolite does not degrade or lose its properties over time, so it continues to work in the field for a long period. This means that a single application can have prolonged effects, supporting the crop throughout the growing season. Plants develop greater resilience to adverse conditions and maintain their vigour, without the need for repeated applications as is the case with other products.
• Resilience to stress, diseases and pests: ZeTe acts as a multi-dimensional ‘shield’ for plants. It protects against abiotic stress such as intense heat, drought, frost and large temperature fluctuations, reducing stress on crops. At the same time, it supports the plants’ defences against diseases and insects – the natural zeolite film repels many harmful insects and helps prevent the development of fungal diseases (e.g. reduced fungal growth due to the absorption of excess moisture). Thus, compared to other fertilisers that merely provide nutrients, ZeTe offers comprehensive protective action that shields crops from multiple risks simultaneously.
• Resource savings (fertiliser & irrigation): One of the most practical benefits of ZeTe 1 is the reduction in production costs. By using it, farmers can achieve savings of up to 30 per cent on fertiliser and up to 40 per cent on irrigation water. Zeolite binds nutrients so that they are not washed away and reduces fertiliser losses to the environment, which allows you to use less fertiliser without reducing crop yield. Furthermore, it improves the soil’s water-holding capacity, providing plants with available moisture for longer. This means that less frequent and lighter watering is required, saving you water and energy. Overall, ZeTe makes farming more economical and sustainable, delivering higher yields with fewer inputs.
• Soil improvement & sustainable agriculture: Unlike certain chemical products which may degrade the soil in the long term, ZeTe improves soil fertility and structure. Zeolite acts as a soil conditioner, neutralising the pH (reducing acidity to a neutral level) and reducing soil compaction whilst increasing aeration. At the same time, it binds hazardous substances (heavy metals, toxins), purifying the environment around the roots. The result is healthier soil, with a rich root system and improved nutrient uptake. This advantage sets ZeTe apart from simple fertilisers or soil conditioners: rather than merely providing instant nutrition, it creates the conditions for long-term, fertile and sustainable cultivation.

Application and Ease of Use

ZeTe’s ease of use is yet another factor that makes it ideal for the modern professional farmer. The product is available in a practical 15-kilo pack, which is suitable for covering a significant area of cropland. Its paste form ensures that the product is ready to mix – simply add it to water and stir. No lengthy dissolution time or specialised equipment is required: ZeTe can be applied using the standard sprayers you already use on your crops. The slurry disperses evenly in water without causing sedimentation or blocking the nozzles, ensuring even coverage of the foliage during spraying.

After spraying, the fine layer of zeolite adheres well to the leaves thanks to its natural composition, but can be easily washed away by rainwater or the next watering once it has done its job. This means that the product leaves no permanent residues on fruit or vegetables – on the contrary, it looks after their health for as long as necessary and is then washed away, actually enriching the soil beneath. ZeTe is safe for the user (it is neither toxic nor corrosive) and environmentally friendly, as it is a natural mineral material. It does not contaminate the water table with chemical residues, thereby contributing to more environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

Finally, it is worth noting that ZeTe can be combined with other agricultural practices or formulations, such as active microorganisms. For example, it can be used in conjunction with organic fertilisers or integrated crop management programmes, enhancing overall effectiveness. This flexibility makes it a valuable all-round tool for any farmer wishing to optimise their crops with minimal effort.
