What do chemical analyses reveal when you interpret them correctly? 🫒 Using a detailed table of results, we present the development of an olive oil over a three-year period: improvement in quality indicators, a change in category and the attainment of a health claim. #Zeolife #zeolite #zeolifegr #oliveoil #healthclaim
Given the latest developments in the olive oil sector, it is even more important for Greece to invest in quality in order to make a difference. All production methods that result in bulk oil will, little by little, become less and less efficient whilst simultaneously becoming more costly. When the ‘extra virgin’ category was introduced,…
This year saw the third olive harvest for the production of extra virgin green olive oil from olives protected exclusively by zeolite as part of organic farming. The first observation we can make is that, of course, there was no sign of the olive fruit fly. The second is that production is higher than in…
Zeolite in olive cultivation using the incorporation method. The benefits and advantages of using natural zeolite in olive cultivation.
‘From olive oil to zeolado (zeolite olive oil)’ was the title of Nikos Ligeros’s talk in Filiatra on Thursday evening at the Vorreio Cultural Centre, where the distinguished Greek professor spoke about the properties and multiple uses of zeolite, which is found in abundance in Greece. Focusing his talk mainly on its applications in agriculture,…
N. Ligeros We are seeing developments in the use of zeolite throughout Greece and Cyprus. We realise, however, that its ability to combat the olive fruit fly effectively is not yet widely known, and areas at high risk of infestation due to the ripening of the olives must be informed in good time, so as…
Greek Foods – Success Stories. Zeolado: pioneering and leading olive oil. Greece’s future and the revitalisation of its economy may lie in the primary sector, but that alone is not enough. Whatever is done must go hand in hand with innovation at all levels. For example, there are many olive oils in our country and around…
Greece’s future and the revitalisation of its economy may well lie in the primary sector, but that alone is not enough. Whatever is done must go hand in hand with innovation at all levels. For example, there are many olive oils in our country and around the world… However, our homeland in particular boasts some of…
The history of zeolite in Greece and Cyprus has entered a new phase. We are no longer talking about a theoretical approach to zeolite at a theoretical level, nor about general information, nor even about experiments. We are now at the stage of applying it to an ever-increasing number of crops, and indeed we are…
Chemical Analysis of Zeolado – N. Ligeros Whilst ‘zeolado (zeolite olive oil)’ was once a vision, it has now become a reality – indeed, even at the level of chemical analysis. We have thus completed the first substantive and objective stage of producing this green olive oil. It was harvested on 26 October 2013. We…
