zeolite and bees – N. Lygeros

Whilst we know that bees are a very important indicator of environmental trends when pollution is present, we do not systematically examine the quality of honey and pollen. Research is now beginning to show that the impact of pesticides has significant consequences for the quality of bees’ produce. We must, therefore, realise that this phenomenon is to be expected, since bees do not forage in areas where there is specific protection for trees and plants. Consequently, it is only natural that they carry toxic substances back into their hives. We must, therefore – as is only right, not only for human consumption but also for the bees themselves and their survival – take coordinated action. On the one hand, it is important to avoid the use of harsh pesticides, and this can be achieved by using zeolite in crops, as it sanitises the environment.
On the other hand, it is essential that we address the hives themselves in order to provide direct assistance to the bees. To this end, we can easily spread zeolite gravel (2.5 to 5 millimetres in grain size) around the hive on the ground and place fine zeolite gravel (0.8 to 2.5 millimetres in particle size) at the bottom of the hive. In this way, we can bind heavy metals, toxins and free radicals. zeolite, moreover, helps to purify and regulate the temperature of the hive by managing the air inside it. In this way, we can ensure the bees’ quality of life whilst also purifying their honey. For those who wish to see the difference, all they need to do is carry out a chemical analysis before and after. It is important to realise that there is a solution to a problem that is becoming increasingly serious for our health.
