Greek zeolite is becoming a reality these days. In the Kokkalo area near the village of Petrota in Northern Evros, work under the exploration licence is getting underway. More specifically, the Thessaloniki-based company Olympus is starting the roadworks required under the licence to provide access to the selected zeolite deposit. Once the road is open, we will also be able to take samples to determine the quality of the zeolite directly, based on its percentage in the zeolite tuff. This process marks a historic milestone for the Greece of the future, as zeolite is one of its key components. For the first time, our country is entering the mining phase through research, and this represents a major step forward for our people. At the same time, it is a vindication of the zeolite campaign, as we are finally moving beyond the phase of inaction regarding our mineral wealth with a material which, as a natural rock, is environmentally friendly, animals and humans. zeolite offers a vast range of applications across a broad spectrum. Consequently, the potential of Greek zeolite will benefit various sectors and open up prospects for innovative initiatives, as well as creating additional jobs in a region that needs them for practical reasons. So, all those who have championed the cause of Greek zeolite can now rejoice and press ahead even more vigorously for the future of our country and our people. The journey of Greek zeolite has begun.
