Where does Zeolite MED® detox come from?
zeolite is a natural mineral of volcanic origin characterised by its unique physical and chemical properties. zeolite MED® detox, in particular, is quarried from a site nestled within the unspoilt natural landscape of south-eastern Europe. This area is situated in the Carpathian Mountains and is renowned for its rich geological history as well as the high purity of the clinoptilolite zeolite intended for human use.
Step 1 – Extraction
zeolite is usually mined in open-cast surface mines. But what exactly does this mean?
The surface, open-cast mining method is a technique whereby minerals are extracted from the earth’s surface. Usually, a few thin layers of soil and rock must be removed in order to reach the pure zeolite lying beneath.
As such, the process is usually straightforward and extremely environmentally friendly.
Step 2 – Crushing
The processing of MED® detox zeolite begins with the use of jaw crushers, which break down the high-quality rock into smaller pieces using mechanical pressure. Special screens then separate the crushed material according to particle size. Vibration or rotation causes the smaller particles to fall through the mesh, whilst the larger particles are further crushed.
This precise process ensures that only material with the desired particle size proceeds to further processing, thereby guaranteeing the quality and properties of the final product.
Step 3 – Cleaning and heating
The zeolite is then thoroughly cleaned to remove any non-edible substances, whilst at the same time undergoing heat treatment.
This treatment increases the binding capacity of its micropores, which improves its ability to adsorb pollutants and exchange ions.
Step 4 – Fine grinding
During fine grinding, which is a particularly gentle process, the unique properties of the zeolite are preserved and optimised. Precise control of the process ensures that the zeolite’s delicate crystalline structure remains intact, which allows the zeolite to retain its high adsorption and ion-exchange capacity.
These fine zeolite particles form the basis of the MED® detox products, which have a positive effect on people’s health and wellbeing.
