... A vegetable garden with traditional seeds, using zeolite and diatomaceous earth, in Avanta, Alexandroupoli [Photos]

A vegetable garden with traditional seeds, using zeolite and diatomaceous earth, in Avanta, Alexandroupoli. Organic cultivation without pesticides or fertilisers, using only natural minerals! In the photos below, we can see zeolite and diatomaceous earth being applied to a vegetable garden. In this vegetable garden, only traditional seeds of tomatoes, peppers and aubergines have been used, grown entirely organically. In this instance, a total of 450 kg of fine gravel has also been incorporated into the soil. Organic manure has been used as fertiliser. Zeolite and urea = more nitrogen in the soil + increased yield

Zeolite and urea = more nitrogen in the soil + increased yield: this is the experimental result of an interesting study by three scientists from Malaysia. The study was carried out at Universiti Putra by Omar Latifah, Osumanu Haruna Ahmeda and Nik Muhamad Abdul Majid in collaboration with the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education. The experiment Zeolite and urea = more nitrogen in the soil + increased yield The high cost of nitrogen fertilisers leads to practices aimed at optimising their use, whilst minimising nitrate losses. Ammonium adsorption inhibits the loss of nitrogen in the form of nitrate, thereby increasing ... Read more

Significant results from the use of zeolite in compost with earthworms [research]

Significant results from the use of zeolite in compost with earthworms [research] Researchers have discovered significant results from the use of zeolite in compost with earthworms in a study in the field of environmental science published on 22018. The experiment Specifically, Zarrabi, M., Mohammadi, A.A. and Al-Musawi, T.J. studied the effect of adding different proportions of natural zeolite, specifically clinoptilolite (5 and 10 per cent), to compost containing earthworms and food waste. The evolution of the physicochemical characteristics of the final product, the growth of the earthworms and the maturation time of the final vermicompost were investigated. The final result ... zeolite improves crop growth in soil contaminated by industrial waste and heavy metals

Soil contaminated with heavy metals and industrial waste is unsuitable for almost any type of crop. However, a new study has revealed that making a simple change could turn things around. Researchers at the Agricultural University of Tirana have discovered that simply adding natural zeolite can serve as an effective method for remediating soil contaminated with heavy soils. They observed significant variations in the changes depending on the proportion of zeolite in the soil, but overall the results appear to have been largely positive. The details of their research have recently been published in the Albanian Journal of Agricultural Sciences. ... Read more

Exceptional zeolite salt – N. Lygeros

Exceptional zeolite-based olive oil – N. Lygeros In the Peloponnese, the harvest has begun for the production of extra virgin green olive oil, which comes from non-irrigated olive trees that have been protected exclusively by zeolite. As a result, these olives are free from both olive fruit flies and olive scale insects. After a three-year period, during which 8 kg of zeolite has been incorporated per root per year, these organic olives meet the criteria for the Ultra Premium category. All the parameters of this zeolite olive oil fall within the limits set by this international regulation, which is constantly ... Read more

Structural and Ion-Exchange Properties of Natural Zeolite

Structural and Ion-Exchange Properties of Natural Zeolite Aiymgul M. Akimkhan, Laboratory of Ion Exchange Resins, A.B. Bekturov Institute of Chemical Sciences, Ministry of Education and Science, Kazakhstan Introduction Intensive studies into the properties of natural and synthetic zeolites have been conducted since the mid-1960s and 1970s. Among the various examples of zeolite applications, it suffices to mention the emission and purification of normal paraffin hydrocarbons, catalytic reactions involving hydrocarbons, the extraction of radioactive isotopes, the production of catalyst supports, the release of enzymes and the removal of atmospheric pollutants [1–3]. Researchers’ interest in such aluminosilicates stems from the unique properties ... Read more
