Information on zeolite is essential – N. Lygeros

Many politicians need to be informed about zeolite, as they still believe that we are embroiled in legal disputes over its extraction in Northern Evros. Not only are they unaware of the facts, but they are also discussing the matter publicly, and their lack of knowledge of the practical details is glaringly obvious. It is therefore important for them to realise that there are no longer any legal issues and that a technical licence has already been granted. Consequently, the road construction and landscaping studies have already been submitted, and we are simply awaiting decisions from the relevant authorities; nothing more. This needs to be made more widely known in political circles; otherwise, it is this very factor that will hold us back in the whole process of promoting Greek zeolite. Our Thrace region is ready; the people of Thrace are now well aware of the prospects for zeolite, and yet we are still hearing discussions from outsiders who explain to us in their own unique way that there are difficulties without even knowing how to define them. This is where journalists can offer practical help, as their questions will force them to inform themselves so as not to be exposed in front of their voters, at the very least, since they do not give citizens sufficient consideration. zeolite is one of the key elements of Greece’s future. Nor is it a party-political issue. zeolite is solely a matter of national importance. Consequently, we must all contribute to this cause if we truly love our Thrace and our homeland. These prospects also concern our people. It is therefore not merely a business issue, but a human one – and indeed a matter of substance. We will therefore not stop raising awareness amongst everyone until the extraction of Greek zeolite in our Thrace has begun.
