The Study on Zeolite Column Adsorption of Groundwater Nitrate
The Study on Zeolite Column Adsorption of Groundwater Nitrate Abstract By zeolite column adsorption test process of nitrate pollution of groundwater, the research of three different inlet velocity of nitrate nitrogen removal, and the roles of nitrite nitrogen accumulation, zeolite adsorption of ammonia nitrogen and the influence of pH value changes, the results show that when the flow rate of 70 mL/h, the nitrate nitrogen concentration in the reaction column rising velocity under concentration less than before, but nitrate nitrogen concentration in the zeolite column has remained at about 3 mg/L, removal rate has remained at more than 95%; Nitrite ... Preparation of Compound Clinoptilolite Filter Material and Performance of Ammonia Nitrogen Removal
Preparation of Compound Clinoptilolite Filter Material and Performance of Ammonia Nitrogen Removal Abstract This experiment use natural clinoptilolite powder as main materials to prepare the large specific surface and high porosity spherical compound filter material by adding adhesive and pore-forming agent etc. This compound filter material has favourable effect when treating sanitary wastewater. The static adsorption test showed that the absorption ratio of ammonia-nitrogen is 58.5% when the compound filter material dosage was 100g/L, NH4+-N concentration was 100mg/L and the contact time was 40min.The cure fitting of the adsorption isotherm of NH4+-N on the compound filter material could be well described ... University of Minnesota developed a method to improve biofuel production
University of Minnesota developed a method to improve biofuel production University of Minnesota developed a method to improve biofuel production American scientists developed computer screening method that identifies materials able to improve biofuel production process. Research team from the University of Minnesota in cooperation with Argonne National Laboratory led a number of researches that would improve biofuel production efficiency. Scientists offer to use alumino silicate and zeolite as a molecular sieve either to filter chemical components or to be a catalyst of chemical reactions. Now more than 200 of various zeolites are available. The main aim of this research is ... Διαβάστε περισσότερα
The water protection – Nikos Lygeros
The water protection – Nikos Lygeros Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias Since there is at last, a formal consultation regarding the water protection from agricultural fertilizers, the role of the zeolite must be promoted in this process. More specifically, it regards the approval of: Code of Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters from nitrates of agricultural sources and livestock activity, which is exactly the field of action of zeolite, since it’s already used in deceleration fertilizers. And the reason is simple, since the zeolite is able to absorb ammonia and release it slowly. Consequently, it is a ... Διαβάστε περισσότερα
Removal of Pb(II) from Aqueous Solutions by Zeolites, Porcelanite and Sands: Correlation of Morphology and Chemical Composition to Batch Removal Efficiency
Removal of Pb(II) from Aqueous Solutions by Zeolites, Porcelanite and Sands: Correlation of Morphology and Chemical Composition to Batch Removal Efficiency Author(s) Fawwaz Jumean1*, Lucia Pappalardo1, Hani Khoury2 Affiliation(s) 1Department of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences, American University of Sharjah, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. 2Department of Geology, The University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan. ABSTRACT Chemical compositions of natural zeolites, porcelanite (opal-CT) and local sands were determined by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and correlated with their Pb(II) removal efficiencies. Zeolites and porcelanite were from the Mikawer, Aritain and Hannon areas in Jordan. Sands (white, red and yellow) were from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). ... Διαβάστε περισσότερα
Proton Adsorption Selectivity of Zeolites in Aqueous Media: Effect of Exchangeable Cation Species of Zeolites
Proton Adsorption Selectivity of Zeolites in Aqueous Media: Effect of Exchangeable Cation Species of Zeolites Moses Wazingwa Munthali *, Erni Johan and Naoto Matsue Department of Life Environmental Conservation, Faculty of Agriculture, Ehime University, 3-5-7 Tarumi, Matsuyama 790-8566, Japan; E-Mails: Johan@agr.ehime-u.ac.jp (E.J.); matsue@agr.ehime-u.ac.jp (N.M.) Abstract: The saturation of negative charges of zeolites by specific cations to modify their physicochemical and catalytic properties has broadened the applications of zeolites. The adsorption behavior of H+ to Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+ and Cs+-saturated Linde-type A, Na-P1, mordenite, X type and Y type zeolites was evaluated at different pH-pM, where pH-pM is equal to ... Nano- and microsized zeolites as a perspective material for potentiometric biosensors creation
Nano- and microsized zeolites as a perspective material for potentiometric biosensors creation Oleksandr O Soldatkin1,2*, Margaryta K Shelyakina1, Valentyna N Arkhypova1, Esin Soy3, Salih Kaan Kirdeciler3, Berna Ozansoy Kasap3, Florence Lagarde4, Nicole Jaffrezic-Renault4, Burcu Akata Kurç3,5, Alexei P Soldatkin1,2 and Sergei V Dzyadevych1,2 Abstract A number of potentiometric biosensors based on coimmobilization of enzymes with different types of zeolite on pH-ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (ISFET) have been developed. Their working characteristics have been determined and compared. It was shown that clinoptilolite and zeolite Beta polymorph A (BEA) are more promising for creating biosensors than zeolite A. Changing the concentration of zeolite ... Διαβάστε περισσότερα
New steps ahead for the Greek zeolite – N. Lygeros
New steps ahead for the Greek zeolite – N. Lygeros New steps ahead for the Greek zeolite – N. Lygeros Translated from the Greek by Athina Kehagias Within the context of the research study license for zeolite in Northern Evros and more specifically in the area Kokkala, which is located near Petrota, we had to also deal with the issue of road construction, which is necessary in order to access the zeolite ore. Now this problem is also solved, with the decision of the Secretary of decentralized Administration of Macedonia-Thrace, as research study approval was given re: C-type forest road ... Evaluation of the potential of Zeolite as a soil conditioner for two Zambian Soils – Makungwe, Mirriam.
Evaluation of the potential of Zeolite as a soil conditioner for two Zambian Soils – Makungwe, Mirriam. Degree: 2015, University of Zambia Poor nutrient and water holding capacities characterise highly weathered soils, thereby limiting soil productivity. This study was conducted to investigate the potential of improving soil productivity through amending soils with zeolite to effect improvements on moisture and cation retention capacities. Two experiments were carried out: i) In the first experiment, an ALISOL and ACRISOL were each amended with zeolite to effect increases in CEC by 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125%. The mixtures were placed in pots and ... Διαβάστε περισσότερα
Τhe floods in Evros and zeolite – N. Lygeros
Τhe floods in Evros and zeolite – N. Lygeros Τhe floods in Evros and zeolite – N. Lygeros Τhe floods in Evros, with all the problems caused to farmers, have the good aspect of informing even our most indifferent citizens and the most incompetent politicians. Now everyone is complaining about the river and all the substances it brings down, which destroy the fields, not just the crops. The point is, that no one proposes a specific solution regarding the problems that arise. Because in actual fact, there is a solution and more specifically in Evros. The zeolite allows for the ...
